Privacy Policy

This explains what personal data Accessimo collects when you use this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it.

Accessimo ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal data described below. If you have any questions, email [email protected].

What we collect

We collect as little as possible, and only what the site needs to function:

• The website address you submit to the free scanner. We use this to run an automated accessibility check and to show you the results.
• Your email address, if you ask us to send you a copy of a scan report, or if you get in touch using the enquiry form or contact link on the homepage.
• Basic technical data, such as your IP address, which is used briefly to prevent abuse of the free scanner (for example, limiting how many scans one visitor can run per hour). This is not linked to your name or stored long-term, it is automatically discarded after about an hour.

The homepage enquiry form (name, business email, website address, and what you need) looks like a form, but it doesn't send anything to a server. Submitting it only pre-fills your own email application with those details and opens a new message addressed to us; nothing you type is sent to or stored by Accessimo's servers, and the message only reaches us if you go on to send that email yourself. The plain "or" link next to the form works the same way, opening your email client directly with nothing pre-filled.

We use Google Ads to measure whether our advertising is working, which sets certain cookies and may share limited data with Google, see "Google Ads and conversion tracking" below. We do not use any other tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or advertising pixels on this site.

Why we collect it

• To run the accessibility scan you asked for and show you the results.
• To email you a copy of your scan report, if you request one.
• To respond to enquiries you send us.
• To keep the free scanner working reliably and prevent misuse.

We do not use your email address for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first.

How long we keep it

Scan results and the email address attached to them are kept for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted. If you email us directly, that message is kept as normal business correspondence and handled the same way any small business handles its inbox.

You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time, see "Your rights" below.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own unrelated marketing purposes. To run the site, we rely on two data processors, companies that handle data on our behalf, under our instructions:

• Cloudflare, who host this website and store scan results and email addresses in their D1 database service.
• Resend, who send the scan report emails on our behalf.

Both may process data on servers outside the UK as part of their global infrastructure, and both provide contractual safeguards for handling data from UK and EU users.

Google Ads and conversion tracking

We use Google Ads to measure whether our advertising is actually bringing people to the free scanner, and whether it's worth what we spend on it. Google's tracking tag runs on every page of this site.

If you submit your email address through the free scanner, it may be shared with Google in a hashed form, run through one-way encryption so it cannot be read back as your original email address. Google calls this "Enhanced Conversions." It is used only to match an ad click to a sign-up, so we can tell which adverts are working, not for any other purpose, and we do not use it to build a marketing list.

Sharing data with a third party like this is only appropriate under UK GDPR when it is minimised and used for a narrow, disclosed purpose, which is the approach we've taken here: the email address is hashed before it ever leaves our systems, and Google only uses it to match a sign-up back to an ad click. If you'd rather we didn't do this, you can still run the scan without giving an email address, you'll see how many issues were found and how serious they are, just not the full itemised report or a copy by email, or you can email us and we'll look at manual alternatives.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct it, if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete it, and we will do so unless we have a good reason not to (for example, an ongoing legal obligation).
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent regulator for data protection, if you think we have handled your data incorrectly. You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a significant change, we will update this page and, where appropriate, let you know.
