These terms cover your use of the Accessimo website and the free automated accessibility scanner. Please read them before using the scanner or getting in touch.

By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the scanner or submit your details.

The free scanner is automated, not an assessment

The scanner runs an automated accessibility check using standard open-source testing tools. It is genuinely useful for finding common problems quickly, but it has real limits, and we want to be upfront about them.

Independent testing by the UK Government Digital Service found that automated tools catch roughly 30–40% of real accessibility issues at best. The scanner result is not a compliance assessment, an accessibility audit, a legal opinion, or a certification of any kind. It does not test things that require a human, such as whether your site actually works with a screen reader or keyboard-only navigation.

Nothing on this site, including the scan report, constitutes legal advice. If you need to know your actual compliance position under the European Accessibility Act, the Equality Act 2010, or any other law, take proper legal advice or commission a full manual audit.

No guarantee of outcome

We provide the scanner and this website "as is". We do not guarantee that using the scanner, acting on its results, or engaging us for further work will result in your website being legally compliant, free of accessibility barriers, or immune from complaints, enforcement action, or litigation. Accessibility is also an ongoing responsibility, a site that passes a scan today can introduce new barriers with the next update.

Manual audits and other paid services

Any manual audit, consulting, or other paid work is separate from this website and these terms. It is only agreed once we have discussed your needs and both sides have signed a separate engagement agreement setting out the scope, price, and terms of that work. Nothing on this website is an offer to carry out paid work on any particular terms.

Intellectual property

The content, design, layout, and branding of this website belong to Accessimo, unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to link to this site or quote it with attribution. You may not copy, republish, or reuse the site's design, written content, or branding for your own commercial purposes without asking us first.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Accessimo is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or the free scanner, including loss of business, profit, or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow us to, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.

If you engage us for a manual audit or other paid work, liability for that work will be set out in the separate agreement covering it, not by this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
